Why watch this film?
'Sweet Girl', an exclusive Netflix action movie starring Jason Momoa, comes to confirm something that has been clear for some time: the star is the ideal face for a certain type of character. Not that this is any contestation of his acting skills, but it is undeniable that he fits very well into a certain pattern, repeated in 'Aquaman', 'Game of Thrones', 'Frontier' and here. The actor is robust and serious, composing a great macho character, but also somewhat mysterious and unfriendly, the kind of intimidating guy you wouldn't dare provoke. So he is the perfect protagonist of 'Sweet Girl', a desolate father full of hatred and thirst for revenge, with a strong protective instinct and willing to do practically anything in favor of his personal perspective. Co-starring with Momoa, we still have Isabela Merced, better known for 'Dora and the Lost City'. The family chemistry between the two is very fluid and convincing, establishing a great foundation for the premise. Motivated by the loss of his wife and the protective instinct for his daughter, Momoa will spare no effort to face his enemies in a movie full of action sequences, and the right doses of suspense and drama. For those who like action movies, but suffer a bit of difficulty in suspending all disbelief, this is the right choice, balanced in the ideal measure between seriousness and violence.
