Why watch this film?

Brazilian filmmaker Iuli Gerbase makes her directorial and screenwriting debut with 'A Nuvem Rosa', which impresses from the very first minutes. The production was written in 2017 and filmed in 2019, but still accurately predicted what the world would face from 2020 onwards with the coronavirus pandemic. The film shows a society - in a dystopian future - locked in their homes for years due to a toxic cloud that ravages the world and kills anyone who comes into contact with it through the air. For the human race to survive, they must stay at home. Sound familiar? Then prepare to agonize as the director shows all the transformations people would have to face in this context. 'A Nuvem Rosa' manages to show some of the nuances of how life in isolation is difficult - for those who are alone and accompanied. It's not an easy movie, especially when we stop to think about all the changes the world has faced with Covid-19. And yet, it's an interesting and well-thought-out story, especially when we consider that Iuli Gerbase thought of all this even before having to experience what life in isolation at home in the digital age would be like.
