She is a traditional Nahua medicine healer and human rights activist in Mexico, becoming the first indigenous woman to aspire to the presidency in Mexico. 'The Spokeswoman', originally titled 'La Vocera', seeks to show a little more about the journey of this inspiring woman through the eyes of filmmaker Luciana Kaplan (from the interesting 'La revolución de los alcatraces'). It's not only interesting to follow her political journey, but also the fight in the Indigenous Government Council to preserve nature and for a new way of understanding progress in the world today. At times, de Carbuccia and her works take more prominence than necessary, but she manages to present vital information.
