Why watch this film?

They say "no one experiments in someone else's head," or, in this case, in a foreign country. The deep social and economic crisis in Venezuela has been widely reported abroad in the media, although often lacking the necessary nuances. 'Once Upon a Time in Venezuela' is the kind of documentary that fills that void, starting with the story of the small Venezuelan water town in danger of disappearing, Congo Mirador, a microcosm that also serves as an x-ray of the social and political situation that much of the country is going through, after the rise of Chavismo and the abuse of the oil economy. However, the documentary does not fall into simplism, but rather, through the story of two women at opposite ends of the political spectrum, it manages to outline the complexities in ideologies, interests and problems of a fragmented and crisis-ridden country.
