Why watch this film?

What happens when you combine one of the most iconic phases of Catwoman in comics with the aesthetics and format of modern Japanese anime? The result is 'Catwoman: Hunted', an original DC feature-length animation. The story does not connect with any of the studio's previous films (and therefore can be watched independently) and draws inspiration from the anti-heroine's 2001 reboot, by the hands of writer Ed Brubaker and artist Darwyin Cooke. To this, the "anime style" is mixed - produced, yes, in the US, but directed by the Japanese Shinsuke Terasawa, who worked on 'Dragon Ball Z' and 'Slam Drunk'. In this way, we have a peculiar animated feature that delivers a fun story, following the line of the character's more modern comics. However, the fact of staying in the middle of the road between "two worlds" and the limited budget compared to DC's previous Warner Bros. Animation films (which can be felt in a drop in animation quality) may disappoint some. The original cast brings voices that will make fans of other franchises happy: the protagonist is played by Elizabeth Gillies (from 'Victorious'), while Batwoman is played by Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel from 'Enchanted'). They are joined by Jonathan Banks ('Breaking Bad'), Jonathan Frakes ('Star Trek: The Next Generation') and Lauren Cohan ('The Walking Dead'), among others.
