Why watch this film?

What a beautiful, simple, and unexpected movie 'Jump, Darling' is. Canadian production directed and written by Phil Connell, the feature film tells the story of a new drag queen who, trying to recover from a complicated situation in her life, decides to run away to her grandmother's house in the countryside. It is there that the heart of the movie begins, when the drag queen's relationship with her grandmother gains momentum in superb and memorable performances by Thomas Duplessie and, above all, by Cloris Leachman, in one of her last roles. It is hard to hold back the emotion and not surrender to this story that, despite some mannerisms here and there, with beaten plots about the LGBTQIA+ community, still brings something new when talking about how family can (and should) always be a safe haven.
