Why watch this film?

Part of the official selection of the 2021 Berlin Film Festival, 'Language Lessons' is a critically acclaimed and audience-acclaimed independent drama. Produced during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the feature film uses the Zoom aesthetic (like the precursor 'Searching') to tell the story of a Spanish teacher (Natalie Morales) who ends up creating an unexpected - and virtual - friendship with the student, played by Mark Duplass ('Lunatic'). It is worth noting that the production is extremely lean, since Duplass and Morales sign the script together - with her also taking on the role of director. However, all this makes 'Language Lessons' an even rarer, intimate jewel, full of chemistry and that, with simplicity, makes us think about friendship and connection.
