Why watch this film?

Inspired by the true story told in the book "Big Boys Don't Cry: An Amazing True Life Story" (also titled "Not Normal"), "Los Chicos No Lloran" is an independent, but well-made and chilling film about the abuses often committed in orphanage systems. In London, a discovery forces Paul Connolly (Michael Socha, from "Cita Sangrienta") to relive the painful memories of his childhood in an orphanage, where he witnessed a police investigation of a friend's suicide. With its subject matter, it is an intense, graphic, and at times very difficult movie to watch, but it is a sensitive and powerful portrayal of the ramifications of abuse and childhood trauma.
