Why watch this film?

"Son of Saul" is a heavy story, revealing the horrors of World War II. However, the feature film uses discreet images, knowing what to show (and often what not to show directly) to shock the audience. "Son of Saul" is, at times, almost unbearable to watch - and, for that reason, necessary. Winner of the 2016 Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
