Why watch this film?
"The Outsider" is a crime drama film directed by Martin Zandvliet and set in post-WWII Japan. The plot revolves around an American former G.I. who becomes a member of the yakuza. Although the film has an interesting premise, it fails to distinguish itself from other gangster movies due to the lackluster performance of Jared Leto and an overreliance on clichés. The movie does offer some insight into the rituals and hardships of the yakuza, but ultimately falls short of being a must-see film.
