Why watch this film?
Continuation of 'Pacific Rim', but without the presence of Guillermo Del Toro as director - due to studio bureaucratic issues, the movie was delayed and the filmmaker chose to pursue 'The Shape of Water'. The world may have gained an incredible, Oscar-winning production, but 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' sadly lost the touch and density given by its own creator. Unfortunately, the film just revisits the best moments of the first part, without much creativity and innovation. Still, it is a spectacle of special effects, with the always exciting fights between monsters and giant robots - drinking from the source of classics like 'Neon Genesis Evangelion', 'Mobile Suit Gundam', 'Patlabor' and the like.

The finale offers a duel to the death between Van Damme and reigning Kumite king Bolo Yeung. The script is based on the real-life exploits of martial arts champ Frank Dux, who serves as the film's fight coordinator.

The Order
In The Order, Van Damme plays a man accused of murder who seeks a sacred scripture in Jerusalem before it falls into the wrong hands, jeopardizing his freedom. With shades of Dan Brown and a script by Jean Claude Van Damme himself, alongside Les Weldon (screenwriter of another action star film, Replicant), the movie is what every fan of the Belgian actor wants: brawling, with a fun plot, and never boring.
