Why watch this film?

Sergei Dovlatov was one of the most popular Russian journalists and writers of the second half of the 20th century. However, he suffered from political persecution in the Soviet Union, unable to publish his material in his native country. This movie portrays six days in Dovlatov's life during this period, in the late 1970s, when the pressure on him and other critics of the communist government increased. Covering such a short period of time and in a bad stage for the protagonist, the biopic chooses an (interesting) path to talk about the biographee, highlighting the flaws and problems that would later make him famous worldwide.
