'Room' tells the extraordinary story of Jack, a 5 year-old boy who is looked after by his loving and devoted Ma. She has created a whole universe for Jack within 'Room', and she will stop at nothing to ensure that, even in this treacherous environment, Jack is able to live a complete and fulfilling life.
"Amazing performances by leads Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, forming a pair of protagonists for a story of love, camaraderie, and closeness. A film that manages to combine tension and fear with maternal love to create an uplifting tale of a mother (Larson) who must raise her son (Tremblay) in a captivity. Detail: the latter has never seen the sun or life outside. With fine direction from Lenny Abrahamson ('Frank'), 'Room' hits the mark as it transitions between filming styles and emotions, allowing the viewer to follow the modulation of moods. Even though the second half of the movie is considerably inferior to what is seen in the initial portion of the story, there is still plenty of room here for emotion. It's worth the dive into the plot."
