Three people, three stories, one thing in common: Africa.

"Just like 'Babel' or 'Crash', the Spanish feature film 'Adu' also playfully intertwines different stories, characters and situations to build its narrative. On one side, there is the boy who gives his name to the feature film, who is forced to leave Cameroon. There is also a Spanish man helping in the guard of a reserve. And, finally, a group of soldiers involved in the death of a refugee. In this mix, filmmaker Salvador Calvo talks about childhood, humanitarianism, family, friendship and other things. It's a simple plot, but it takes advantage of this crossing of stories to increase its scope, justify the Spanish-signed production and try to give a more complex look to what is told by Calvo. No doubt, you can be moved by the ups and downs of the suffering life of little Adú - even if the director exaggerates the tone sometimes, as in the plane crash scene. In addition, nothing can justify the parallel stories, especially the guard played by Luis Tosar. They are just whites taking stories and protagonism from blacks. A pity. But, if you overlook that, otherwise, 'Adu' is a movie with potential to move and, with a swift plot, be remembered."
