Bosnia, 1995. Aida is a translator for the UN in the small town of Srebrenica. When the Serbian army takes over the town, her family is among the thousands of citizens looking for shelter in the UN camp. As an insider to the negotiations, Aida has access to information that she needs to interpret. What is on the horizon for her family and people - rescue or death? Which move should she take?

"Desperate movie about the Bosnian genocide at the hands of Serbia. All seen through the eyes of the strong character Aida (Jasna Djuricic), a UN translator who does everything to save her husband and two children from the Serbian army. Revolting and devastating, this feature film by director Jasmila Zbanic ('In Secret') delves into the pain of these people in one of the saddest moments of humanity after World War II. To do this, the filmmaker uses a style similar to 'Son of Saul', where the camera follows the desperate journey of the character in a humanitarian and also personal hell. A movie that, without a doubt, will move and revolt many, while others will want to know the other side of the Serbian story. But there is no denying: it is a current, necessary and urgent film for its message. No wonder it was nominated for the Oscar for Best International Film."
