Layla Majnun

"If you love romantic movies but are looking for something different from the American standard, you've come to the right place. Layla and Majnun is a well-known Persian love story popular in Arabia, Persia, Central Asia, and India, similar to 'Romeo and Juliet'. The tale has inspired many Muslim writers and artists who have created versions of the narrative. 'Layla Majnun' is the cinematic adaptation of this romance, which has also been turned into music. Eric Clapton's band, Derek and the Dominos, wrote 'Layla' based on the Persian story. In the movie, we follow the romance between Layla and Samir, which faces difficulties due to the culture they are embedded in. It's a beautiful, moving production that will surely enchant those who like a good romantic feature film. 'Layla Majnun' is also a great opportunity to get to know Indonesian cinema."
