Why watch the movie Tragic Jungle?
"One of the most characteristic traits of Latin American literature is Magical Realism. It is such a specific genre, and resonates so deeply with our beautiful culture, that it could not exist anywhere else, in any other social context. Latin America has breathed Magical Realism since its beginnings, and its roots were already present here long before colonization. 'Selva Trágica' is a beautiful translation of this genre in cinema, with a hypnotic and discreet story that envelops and carries you through its narrative like a dream. Without much explanation or verbalization, the film subtly submerges us in its narrative, mixing mystery, seduction and contemplation. A film with Latin blood, for those who want to escape the Eurocentric or North American axis and immerse themselves in an immersive and contagious experience."
