Sweat

"There are several movies that talk about the problems of hyperconnectivity. It starts with the seminal issue in 'The Social Network', passing through provocative documentaries such as 'The Dilemma of Networks' and 'The Great Hack' and even productions that move into suspense or some "genre" story, like 'Ingrid Goes West'. But one of the good surprises about this topic is 'Sweat', or 'Suor'. Directed and written by Magnus von Horn, the movie follows the story of Sylwia (Magdalena Kolesnik), a young Polish woman who is a success on social networks. She has almost 600 thousand followers and has become a reference in Poland when it comes to care, health, physical exercise and well-being. However, in intimacy, things are not going so well. She has no boyfriends, no great friends and everything around her seems fake, fragile and shallow. Thus, following a path more 'Ingrid Goes West' and 'Rust' than 'The Dilemma of Networks', von Horn's film is not so concerned with talking about the medium and about social networks. The concern of 'Sweat' is more focused on observing and allowing the viewer to dive into the lives of those who seem to have a perfect daily life, without flaws. Does this really exist? Is there real life, with pain and depression, behind the Instagram filters?"
