"Movies about exorcisms have captured the popular imagination since William Friedkin's cinematic gem, 'The Exorcist'. In 'The Seventh Day', director and screenwriter Justin P. Lange ('In the Dark') dives back into this universe with the story of a renowned exorcist who joins a novice priest on his first day of training -- and who see the lines between good and evil blur and their own demons emerge over time. Banal and somewhat generic, 'The Seventh Day' is unlikely to please those looking for a more sophisticated production on the subject -- as was the case with 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose', for example, decades after Friedkin's classic. It's just another movie to pass the time, have fun with friends and, who knows, even have a few laughs."
