A trans girl and her mother move to a small town, but face discrimination when enrolling in school.
Why watch the movie Valentina?
"A Brazilian drama about a teenage trans person trying to start a new life in a small town - and to suffer less prejudice, omitting their transgender status. Brazil is one of the countries that kills the most trans people, and also has a large percentage of young people who drop out of school due to running this risk. 'Valentina' is an extremely important production in the media, the protagonist Thiessa Woinbackk is impeccable in the role and it is great to know that the character was interpreted by a trans actress and not a cis one. This type of inclusion is highly relevant. The film is very delicate and manages to make you reflect on the macho and prejudiced society in which we are inserted."
