In the winter of 1942/1943, a series of not-so-well known, yet bloody battles occurred near the town of Rzhev. Those battles received the name of 'Rzhev Meat Grinder'. The film is based on the award-winning novel by Vyacheslav Kondratyev.

There were a series of battles that are ignored in our history classes, but were very bloody, known as the "Rzhev Meat Grinder". After several fights, the Red Army defeats the enemy, with many losses and deaths of the battalion. Exhausted, the soldiers await rescue, but the headquarters orders them to maintain control of the region at all costs, practically sentencing them to death. It's a feast for war movie fans, betting on great action sequences and the heroism of its protagonists. In addition, it has a moving story that will certainly leave the viewer emotional."
