Why watch the movie The Humans?
""The Humans", like all movies adapted from an intimate theatrical work (in this case, based on the Tony Award-winning play of the same name by Stephen Karam), is one of those productions with few settings and actors, based entirely on camera work and performances. And what performances: The cast includes Beanie Feldstein ("Booksmart"), Steven Yeun ("Minari: In Search of Happiness"), Richard Jenkins ("The Shape of Water") and Jayne Houdyshell ("Little Women") at the peak of their abilities. The movie is about a family gathered in a run-down apartment to celebrate Thanksgiving, but gradually insecurities and resentments begin to arise among the family members. "The Humans" is such a powerful portrait of a dysfunctional family that it sometimes borders on suspense and horror. Without a doubt, it's one of the best films of its genre you'll see."
