Why watch the movie Victoria & Abdul?
"With the ever-excellent Judi Dench as Queen Victoria, this period drama focuses on the monarch's last years of reign, already in a phase in which she reflects on her life and attitudes, turning the feature film into a critique of British colonial past. However, there are some narrative stumbles and a very servile and, somehow, westernized portrayal of Abdul. Still, nothing that can take away from the makeup and costume design, both Oscar-nominated."
