Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatization gives an insider account of how the women of Newsnight secured Prince Andrew’s infamous interview.

"From filmmaker Philip Martin (who directed episodes of The Crown), this film is a recounting of what happened behind the scenes for BBC journalist Emily Maitlis to secure an interview with Prince Andrew of York regarding his ties to businessman Jeffrey Epstein, an interview later described as 'a plane crashing into an oil tanker, causing a tsunami, triggering a nuclear explosion.' The film version isn't as thrilling: Scoop follows Maitlis (Gillian Anderson) in the process of researching, negotiating, and securing the interview, handling the entire process with care to not botch it. The film, at least, joins the cinematic canon of productions about investigative journalism into networks of sexual abuse, such as Spotlight, She Said, and Bombshell."
