"After a bomb attack, a woman loses her husband and son. Thus begins a journey that is not of acceptance, but rather to understand all that has happened and the quest for justice. This is the plot of the latest film from director Fatih Akin (of 'Soul Kitchen' and 'Do Outro Lado'), which mixes the spirit of current times, including its idiosyncrasies, extremism, fears, and dangers--worthy of the 2018 Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film. One of the great highlights, besides competent direction, is Diane Kruger's ('Inglorious Bastards') performance in the role of the protagonist. With energy, the German actress makes us feel the despair of a woman who saw her life torn apart--deserving the Best Actress award at the Cannes Festival. In the end, we realize that there are no easy solutions, but that addressing the issue of extremism and reflecting on it is already an important start."
