Mom, putting her daughter to bed, complains that she still does not know how to read herself and comes up with a fairy tale for her about a little princess who lived in a castle and loved only to swing on a swing and listen to fairy tales read to her. One day a witch comes to the castle. She is accepted, fed, and, as a sign of gratitude, decides to give the princess a book so that she can learn to read. But the princess is naughty and rejects the witch's gift, saying that she does not want to read herself. Then the witch gets angry and gives the princess a magic box that can tell fairy tales, but with the condition that the princess remains small forever until she reads the inscription on the bottom of the box.
