Heaven and Earth; a Ritual is a story of survival set in the harsh reality of 1880. When May, an Indigenous woman, runs away from an abusive man to protect her newborn from a tragic fate, she crosses paths with Frank, a hermit who plays out a determined, nihilistic ritual. After a horrible tragedy, he gave up on life and retreated into the woods. Frank and May's first encounter won't be an easy one, but it just may be one that destiny had planned for them both. A recurring participant throughout Frank and May's journey, a painted pinto, brings a sense of wonder to the Western genre.
