Post World War II, a British colonel and his wife are assigned to live in Hamburg during the post-war reconstruction, but tensions arise with the German who previously owned the house.
"Based on a novel by Welsh writer Rhidian Brook, 'The Aftermath' was also slightly inspired by Roberto Rossellini's classic 'Germany, Year Zero'. Despite its solid production values and good pacing, the film falters a bit in its more intimate and passionate sequences. However, the luxurious cast (led by Keira Knightley of 'Pride and Prejudice' and Alexander Skarsgård of 'Melancholia') is, in itself, a great reason to watch."
