Almost every student, regardless of race, has been exposed to trauma. However, stress, and frightening situations are experienced more frequently by students of color, who have less access to protective resources. It is hard for them to divorce themselves from events in their homes and/or communities simply by stepping into the classroom -- especially due to the effects of historical trauma and ongoing racial injustice. "I Wish You Knew" is a short film that will highlight these traumas and call for more trauma-informed schools.
