The Kill Team

""The Kill Team" has caused controversy among American audiences. On the one hand, some viewers believe that it almost serves as an exposé of the horrors of armed conflict, much like the classic "Johnny Got His Gun" or "Born on the Fourth of July". On the other hand, part of the audience sees it as an exaggerated and dangerous lie about what goes on behind the scenes of war, in stark contrast to "American Sniper", for example. Regardless of the view taken, however, director Dan Krauss' harsh portrayal of events stands out. He had already directed a documentary of the same title about the event and delves deep into the psychological trauma of a soldier who witnesses his superiors and colleagues committing unnecessary crimes. Nat Wolff (from the novel "Paper Towns") and Alexander Skarsgård (from "Melancholia") deliver the most difficult performances of their careers, adding texture and pain to their characters. It is not an easy film to digest or to reach a consensus on. However, it is accurate in creating a war atmosphere. And that, perhaps, is enough."
