Mckenna Grace Draws a Firm Line on Future Roles, and a Disney Fairy Tale Is Why

Few young actors have grown up on screen as publicly as Mckenna Grace. She was already in front of a camera at 6 years old, landing her first television role in 2012 on Disney Xd’s ‘Crash & Bernstein.’ Now 20, she has spent more than a decade building a résumé that moves easily between family comedy and prestige drama. Her performance in ‘Gifted’ earned a Critics’ Choice Movie Award nomination for Best Young Performer, and she also played a young Tonya Harding in ‘I, Tonya.’ Her turn in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ later brought her an Emmy nomination in 2021. Few actors her age can claim that kind of range, which makes the choices she makes next worth watching.

Mckenna Grace Reveals the Line She Won’t Cross in Hollywood, and a Disney Dream Is Why

Mckenna Grace Burge was born on June 25, 2006, and she is now 20. She has wanted to act since she was 4 and made her onscreen debut in Disney Xd’s ‘Crash & Bernstein.’ Few young stars have spent as much of their lives in front of a camera. She broke through in films like ‘Gifted’ and ‘I, Tonya,’ then enjoyed a bigger breakout in ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ and on TV in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale.’ That Hulu role earned her an Emmy nomination in 2021. Now she is moving into the awkward stretch where a former child actor has to decide what kind of adult career she wants. That brings us to what she just told Cosmopolitan.

Mckenna Grace Rejects ‘Nudity or Hypersexual Things’ in Acting Roles: ‘My Dream Is to Be a Disney Princess Someday’

Mckenna Grace told Cosmopolitan magazine on her press tour for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” that she turns down acting roles that require nudity because she harbors dreams of one day playing a Disney princess on the big screen. “At this point, I definitely don’t do nudity or very hypersexual things,” Grace told the publication when asked if there are any roles she would decline. “I respect anybody who can, but it’s terrifying to me. I don’t know if that’ll ever change. It’s not like I only do wholesome things — my character literally gets gutted by Ghostface in ‘Scream’ — but my dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday.” Grace’s comment brings to mind Amy Adams, who became an iconic Disney princess in 2007 with her role as Giselle in “Enchanted” and then declined raunchier fare in the years that followed

‘Sex Education’ Star Asa Butterfield Signs With Linden Entertainment (Exclusive)

Linden Entertainment has signed actor Asa Butterfield for representation. Butterfield most recently made his stage debut in Barney Norris’ “Second Best” at Riverside Studios in London, which was based on David Foenkinos’ best-selling novel of the same name, and starred in Oscar Boyson’s “Our Hero, Balthazar.” Known for his role as Otis Milburn in the Netflix comedy “Sex Education,” Butterfield will next be seen as the Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein in BBC’s “Hamburg Days,” which follows the band’s formative years in the German city, as well as John Carroll’s comedy “Happy” alongside Kyra Sedgwick, Mark Strong and Wyatt Russell. Butterfield made his screen debut when he was just 8 years old in ITV’s “After Thomas” and went on to star in Mark Herman’s “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas” just two years later, which earned him a nomination for Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards.

Jenna Ortega's Klara And The Sun Movie Suffered An Ashtonishing Box Office Blow

Editor Note: An earlier version of this article featured an inaccurate estimation for the film's second weekend drop. This has been corrected. Things have gone from bad to worse for "Klara and the Sun." Fronted by "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega and hailing from "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi, it's been nothing shy of a crushing disappointment for all involved. Now, the movie has suffered a devastating blow on its second weekend at the box office, one that all but seals its commercial fate. Hailing from Sony Pictures, "Klara and the Sun" flopped at the box office on its opening weekend, pulling in just $701,000 in its debut against a $20 million budget.

Thor Director Taika Waititi Slams Critics After His Jenna Ortega Sci-Fi Movie Flops

Director Taika Waititi isn't too happy with critics of his latest movie, "Klara and the Sun." The filmmaker behind "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Jojo Rabbit" recently took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter after his sci-fi movie starring Jenna Ortega flopped at the box office. Posting on Instagram, Waititi shared a screenshot of a Screen Rant article highlighting the movie's audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which sits at a decent 74%. The problem? It holds a lousy 24% critical approval rating. It's those critics that Waititi took issue with, writing: "I haven't read a review of anything aimed at me or my peers in almost 15 years. But I do listen to the people.
