Amazon MGM Developing Series Adaptation Of Melinda Leigh Thriller ‘The Courier’; ‘Blindspot’s Martin Gero Showrunning
Exclusive: Amazon MGM Studios is developing a series adaptation of The Courier, a new novel from bestselling thriller author Melinda Leigh, sources tell Deadline.
The Courier is based on a concept from Blindspot creator Martin Gero, who will showrun, write and executive produce under his Quinn’s House banner, which along with producing partner Premeditated Productions, is under an exclusive deal at Amazon.
A high-stakes international thriller, the series will follow a diplomatic courier named Daisy, who finds herself framed for a plane explosion meant to kill her and cover up a stolen package. Forced to go on the run across Europe to clear her name, Daisy must stay hidden, uncover what was taken and find out why it was worth her life.
Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark will exec produce via Premeditated, with their SVP Television Julie Jarmon serving as co-ep and pointing the project. The book, from Entangled Publishing’s Sideways imprint,
