‘Violent Night 2’: Santa and Mrs. Claus Gear Up in Over 25 New Images [Gallery]

We have over 25 new images from Violent Night 2, featuring David Harbour (Stranger Things) back as Santa Claus and Kristen Bell (Pulse) joining him as Mrs. Claus. There are behind-the-scenes photos, plenty of shots of Harbour rocking weapons, and the two looking badass together, ready for a mall battle with a bunch of goofball villains. It looks like a silly, fun, violent good time. The first Violent Night was incredibly violent, though, and I’m still hoping the sequel delivers the gore on that same level. These images look a little more accessible—more Die Hard in a mall with David Harbour’s Santa Claus. Thankfully, it’s still rated R for “strong/bloody violence, and language.” Either way, Harbour is great, and this looks like a good time. Returning director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) sends Santa to the Silver Bell Mall, where a gangster played by Jared Harris is terrorizing the merchants.

Bound Turns 30: The Sex Scene Took Eight Takes, but the Ratings Board Forced the Wachowskis to Use Take Seven

Bound arrived in US theaters on October 4, 1996, and the 30th-anniversary celebrations began in June, when Lilly Wachowski reunited with Gina Gershon, Jennifer Tilly, Joe Pantoliano and Christopher Meloni for a Tribeca Festival screening and Q&A in New York on June 7. Looking back at Bound, which marks its 30th anniversary this year, the Wachowskis’ feature-length directorial debut feels like an anomaly, particularly compared to the rest of their work. After all, we have grown accustomed to the Wachowskis’ high-concept sci-fi blockbusters, including The Matrix trilogy, Cloud Atlas, and Jupiter Ascending, all of which cost a sizable Hollywood budget. Even their rare pivot to family adventure in the colorful live-action version
