Why watch this film?
The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 marked a generation - and, 20 years later, the fact continues to inspire stories in cinema. 'What Is Life Worth' is a production with a great cast, including Michael Keaton ('Batman'), Stanley Tucci ('Spotlight') and Amy Ryan ('Birdman'), and one inspired by facts about a lawyer committed to creating a fund to compensate for losses in human life in the attacks. Therefore, the production takes a different angle from the others related to September 11, raising the question: can the value of a life be measured by a person's economic contribution to society? Or is it something much bigger, deeper and immeasurable? All this raises a debate even more important than what happened in 2001, since calculations of compensation are a constant in the corridors of justice - in tragedies such as those of Brumadinho, Mariana and so many others, which occur daily in Brazil and in the world. Although it falls into melodrama in several moments, it is a movie to watch and reflect on (especially if you are a lawyer, judge, public defender...).
