"Boogie" tells the story of Alfred "Boogie" Chin, a basketball player from Queens, NY, who dreams of playing in the NBA. The movie shows him dealing with the pressure to get a college scholarship, the weight of expectations on his shoulders, and the desire to find a girlfriend. A good and diverse story - for bringing an East Asian descent protagonist to a production about one of the most popular sports in the United States. The characters are relatable and the cast does its job well, Taylor Takahashi is great as the star of the show and this is his first role in cinema.
