'Sole' is a drama film that tells the story of Lena, a woman who is 7 months pregnant and has decided to sell the baby in her belly. The act is illegal, requiring a man, Emanno, to pretend to be the father until the child is sold. In a universe where money speaks louder, Emanno and Lena are two strangers who must pretend in public to be a couple until the sale is finalized. This movie marks the debut of director Carlo Sironi, the director knows how to work very well the chemistry between the couple with main highlight for the performance of actor Claudio Segaluscio. The film has a cold aesthetic that matches its melodramatic story. It is moving and talks about important and current themes with sensitivity and depth.

Plot summary
Ermanno and Lena are two strangers. Lena has come from Poland to sell her baby. Ermanno has to pretend to be the father so that he can entrust the newborn to his uncle Fabio. As Lena rejects her motherly desire, Ermanno starts to assume his role as if he was the actual father of Sole, the baby girl.

In Kidnapped (Rapito), Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio delves into one of the murkiest and most controversial episodes in the history of the Catholic Church, the "Mortara case". In 1851, when Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara becomes gravely ill, his Catholic nanny decides to baptize him in an emergency. However, papal law dictates that all Catholics must be raised as such, so the cardinal orders the boy to be taken and handed over to the church, against his parents' wishes, who decide to fight for him.
