Why watch this film?
This is a historical drama that portrays the events of Chernobyl in a fictional way, from the point of view of three men - who fight to save lives during the disaster and who represent the real victims of the disaster. Instead of worrying about a meticulous factual reconstruction, the intention of the feature film is to build a dramatic arc about its protagonists, moving away a bit from the need for accuracy common in films of this type. It is interesting to witness a drama about this tragic event from a different point of view, since the movie is a Russian production.

Plot summary
After the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant number 4, the USSR and all of Europe is faced with an even greater threat - a possible steam explosion that would eject even more radioactive material into the atmosphere over the entire continent. Firefighter Alexey volunteers for what seems like a suicide mission: manually drain the plant’s reservoir before the melting reactor collapses into it.
