The Most Beautiful Day in the World
After dozens of Marvel and DC superhero films and series that reversed the logic of these characters like 'The Boys', the feeling is that stories about superpowers have entered a tiresome monotony. However, here comes Italian director Alessandro Siani (from 'Mister Felicità') with 'Il giorno più bello del mondo'. Drawing from the source of 'Ensinando a Viver' with John Cusack, the feature film tells the story of an indebted theater entrepreneur who believes he has found the answer to his problems when he receives custody of a boy with powers. It is a somewhat obvious film in its conduct and in its attempt to draw tears from the audience, reminiscent of Eugenio Derbez's "paternal" productions and films like 'Não Aceitamos Devoluções'. However, even so, in the end 'Il giorno più bello del mondo' is one of those productions that are friendly and should serve as a good pastime, albeit a bit banal.

Lie With Me (Arrête avec tes mensonges) - An emotional French drama directed by Olivier Peyo, has been awarded the award for Best Narrative Feature Film at FilmOut San Diego. The film follows a writer who returns to his hometown of Cognac after 35 years to represent a cognac brand and reunites with the son of his first love, a role played by Victor Belmondo, triggering an avalanche of passionate memories of his youth.
Kidnapped
In Kidnapped (Rapito), Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio delves into one of the murkiest and most controversial episodes in the history of the Catholic Church, the "Mortara case". In 1851, when Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara becomes gravely ill, his Catholic nanny decides to baptize him in an emergency. However, papal law dictates that all Catholics must be raised as such, so the cardinal orders the boy to be taken and handed over to the church, against his parents' wishes, who decide to fight for him. The film recounts a controversial case that captured the attention of the rest of Europe and America, and skillfully portrays the clash of interests between the waning power of the church, Mortara's parents, and public opinion, with irreversible consequences for all involved.
