Trailer

Why watch this film?

A movie worth it for the performances - earning Jessica Chastain her first Oscar. 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' follows the tumultuous story of an American missionary couple, Tammy Faye (Chastain) and Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield), who worked in a religious television channel. They became icons in the United States in the 1970s and 1980s. Faye's image is well preserved in the movie, in the sense that she seems a victim in this environment and one of the only missionaries trying to be inclusive even with the controversial values of religion. It is a relevant production about religious intolerance, conservatism and also about media control.
