Lucky

A fiercely independent man at the precipice of life embarks on a journey of self-exploration.

Why watch this film?

An interesting and melancholic portrait about the mortality of life directed by newcomer John Carroll Lynch, whom you may recognize from his roles in such productions as 'American Horror Story' and 'Fargo'. Experienced in front of the camera, Lynch manages to undertake his own style behind it, blending elements of filmmakers he has worked with (a list that includes names like Martin Scorsese and the Coen Brothers). Besides the presence of David Lynch acting, another great highlight of 'Lucky' is that this was the last movie of the great actor Harry Dean Staton, known for movies such as 'Alien: The Eighth Passenger' and 'Paris, Texas'. Here already at 91 years old, Staton delivers a performance worthy of the farewell he deserves, precisely in a character who suffers from advanced age and the shadow of death.
