"Amores perros" is structured by fragmented stories, a resource that the director will repeat in the other films of his "Trilogy of Death": "21 Gramos" and "Babel". Babel

Iñárritu, director and responsible for the original idea of the script, proposes a story in which the lack of dialogue leads to tragic consequences in different places of the world. A feature film to watch accompanied and then motivate a political discussion over coffee or a beer.
Bardo
We could say that many filmmakers reach the point in their careers where they can afford to make their "8½," referring to Federico Fellini's surreal semi-autobiographical film from 1963. For Alejandro González Iñárritu, one of Mexico's most successful filmmakers on the international scene, this is the movie. In 'Bardo: False Chronicle of Some Truths' tells the story of Silvério (Daniel Giménez Cacho), a renowned journalist and documentarian who finds himself forced to return to his native Mexico, on a journey that will end up testing his existential limits. It is a film with a slow rhythm, sinuous narrative detours and a refined visual style that counterbalance what, by the way, is an enormous comfort and vanity of the director. The final product is never less than fascinating, yes, so those looking to dive into an intense existential journey cannot miss out on experiencing it.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)
The backstage of success is not as beautiful as you might imagine. Actors can't seem to shake certain stereotypes or successful roles, interviews are tiresome, there are conflicts and ego clashes, and so on. What 'Birdman' does is take advantage of the recent explosion of superhero films to explore all this complexity. This is not a movie to laugh at but to understand a little bit more those who make us laugh or cry on the big screen.
The Revenant
Nowadays, with technology, all you need is a large studio and a green screen to have any location in the world. However, Iñárritu did not choose the easy way. Over 90% of the movie was shot in outdoor locations in Alberta (Canada) and Argentina, giving us beautiful images and an impeccable photography that won an Oscar. Another award-winning member of the movie is Leonardo DiCaprio. Maybe this isn't his best performance in his career, but it certainly was the most difficult one physically, due to the fact that the filming was done in the middle of nature. For all these reasons, 'The Revenant' is one of those movies that shows that cinema can still be something real and alive.

Kidnapped
In Kidnapped (Rapito), Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio delves into one of the murkiest and most controversial episodes in the history of the Catholic Church, the "Mortara case". In 1851, when Jewish boy Edgardo Mortara becomes gravely ill, his Catholic nanny decides to baptize him in an emergency. However, papal law dictates that all Catholics must be raised as such, so the cardinal orders the boy to be taken and handed over to the church, against his parents' wishes, who decide to fight for him. The film recounts a controversial case that captured the attention of the rest of Europe and America, and skillfully portrays the clash of interests between the waning power of the church, Mortara's parents, and public opinion, with irreversible consequences for all involved.
Green Border
'Green Border' - In the treacherous and swampy forests that make up the so called “green border” between Belarus and Poland, refugees from the Middle East and Africa trying to reach the European Union are trapped in a geopolitical crisis cynically engineered by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko. In an attempt to provoke Europe, refugees are lured to the border by propaganda promising easy passage to the EU. Pawns in this hidden war, the lives of Julia, a newly minted activist who has given up her comfortable life, Jan, a young border guard, and a Syrian family intertwine.
