Why watch the movie Ramen Shop?
"Indulge your eyes and taste buds with this touching film by Eric Khoo, of 'Mee Pok Man' and 'Tatsumi' fame. The story is about a young Japanese man who goes to Singapore in search of his past, rediscovering his mother's diary and an uncle who owns a lamen shop in the city-state. Thus begins a journey not just gastronomic, but also through the past of tensions between the Singaporeans and the Japanese - who occupied the region during World War II. A metaphor about memory, that shows that films can be as tasty as a good bowl of lamen."
