Eami's homeland is invaded by settlers. Embodying Asojá, the bird-god-woman, she falls into trance in which she walks slowly and stunned through her beloved forest as she prepares to leave it forever.
"Award-winning Paraguayan documentary that explores the pain of the Ayoreo people living in one of the fastest deforested areas on the planet. Eami (which in Ayoreo means both 'forest' and 'world') is, at the same time, a nature documentary, an ethnographic work and an audiovisual poem (comparable in this sense to Sanctorum from Mexico) that plays with rhythms and sensibilities in a contemplative narrative that immerses itself in the experience of a people living through the destruction of their world."
