A doctor's wife becomes the only person with the ability to see in a town where everyone is struck with a mysterious case of sudden blindness. "Adapted from an excellent book by José Saramago and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, 'Blindness' managed to do the impossible: bring the intensity of the Portuguese author's literature to the big screen while keeping the audience in an ideal plot for the movies. Credit, mainly, to Meirelles, who knew how to create the atmosphere, gave a serious dystopian air and orchestrated the excellent cast with Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo. The great point in favor is also that 'Blindness' maintained the various interpretations that the book brings. It can be simply an epidemic that causes blindness, it can be a political criticism or it can even be a vision of the social chaos that the world lives in. It doesn't matter. Any of the readings make the movie quite special."
