Nicolas Cage Reveals How Playing Castor Troy in Face/Off Made Him Nearly Lose His Mind

Back in the 1990s, Nicolas Cage pulled off a cinematic hat-trick with three back-to-back bangers that stand the test of time: The Rock, Con Air, and John Woo’s Face/Off, a darkly comedic action film in which the unhinged actor starred opposite John Travolta. The film opens with Cage playing the terrorist Castor Troy. After FBI agent Sean Archer (John Travolta) undergoes a surgical face transplant to take Castor’s appearance, Cage spends the rest of the movie playing Sean Archer trapped inside Castor Troy’s body. Troy is one of Cage’s zaniest characters, and according to Cage, playing the part took a mental toll he was unprepared for.

John Travolta's 132-Minute Western Classic Officially Sets New Release After 46 Years

Before he ever stepped into a pair of cowboy boots, John Travolta was already an absolute powerhouse of pop culture. He dominated the late '70s box office with Saturday Night Fever, only to pivot a year later to cement his status as a cinematic icon in Grease. However, the ultimate showcase of his versatility arrived when he abandoned the city lights and hot rods for the rugged world of modern Americana. Completing a hat-trick of era-defining hits, Travolta stepped into a gritty, 132-minute Western drama that captured the rowdy energy of the Texas honky-tonk scene, conquered the box office, and sparked a massive country-western revolution across the globe. The Gentleman Thief Review: Retirement Gives Way to Another Comfortable Crime

Slow motion gives Mason Goddard’s crew ample time to look like accomplished criminals. Their group strut in The Gentleman Thief establishes solidarity through the simple privilege of being watched: these people belong together, and the camera expects us to enjoy their company. John Travolta supplies the central authority as Mason, a retired thief drawn back into work by his younger brother Shawn, played by Lukas Haas. Before their expertise has faced much scrutiny, Randall Emmett’s direction has already granted them the visual privileges of professionals. Looking capable is part of a con artist’s equipment. The film takes that equipment seriously. The theft of an expensive watch puts

Quentin Tarantino’s 10/10 Crime Thriller Officially Pulled From Streaming

2026 is a huge year for Quentin Tarantino fans, especially those who have been waiting not-so-patiently since 2019 for news of his next movie. Tarantino is returning to the big screen soon with the release of The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel starring Brad Pitt. Leonardo DiCaprio is not expected to return as Rick Dalton in the film, but other stars like Timothy Olyphant are coming back with newcomers such as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also tapped for key roles. Tarantino isn’t directing the film, but he did write the script and recruit David Fincher to direct, which all but guarantees that his signature style will be maintained.

Oops! How Danny Trejo Accidentally Made a Pro-ice Movie

Danny Trejo has played a Mexican revolutionary, a Mexican cop, a Mexican cartel assassin and, of course, a Mexican ex-con who kills bad guys with a machete. One time, in a 2015 Super Bowl ad for Snickers, he even played a Mexican Marcia Brady. But now, after more than 400 screen appearances, the 82-year-old actor has popped up in a part nobody saw coming, not even Trejo: He’s the Mexican star of a pro-ice movie. Last month, Trejo finished filming Pawn Shop, an action-thriller in which he portrays the owner of a Minneapolis store that becomes ground zero for a standoff involving Ice, anti-ice protesters, Antifa and Ms-13 gang members. While Rambling Reporter can’t definitively confirm the online rumors about how the film is chock-full of offensive anti-immigration agitprop — we haven’t read the script, only heard what’s in it, including a scene involving an unhinged, Covid mask-wearing agitator
