Truth and Justice

A man's obsession with his dream corrupts his soul.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

The Estonian filmmaker Tanel Toom gained attention in the cinephile and festival world due to ‘The Confession’, an intimate and emotional short film about a boy making his first confession. Now, Tanel Toom gets the green light to direct his first feature film with the acclaimed 'Tõde ja õigus'. With a long 2h45 duration, the movie follows the story of a man who sacrifices everything around him to find his dream. It is an emotional and profound film and, even with an exaggerated duration, it passes quickly on the screens -- after all, the journey of this protagonist is so deep and identifiable that it is difficult not to get involved with the narrative. Obviously, however, you must be ready for the rhythm and atmosphere of 'Tõde ja õigus': like most productions from the Estonia region, there is plenty of poetry in its sequences, as well as a reinforced focus on the human being, and much less on the conventional narrative.
