Why watch this film?

It's a reimagining of the 1955 animated classic, in Disney's long list of live-action remakes. Necessary? Probably not, like most of these adaptations, which lose a bit of the magic of the originals that inspire them. However, this version of 'Lady and the Tramp' works thanks to the production opting for live-action assisted by digital special effects (unlike 'The Lion King'), as well as its cast, which includes Kiersey Clemons ('The Choice'), Thomas Mann ('Kong: Skull Island'), F. Murray Abraham ('The Grand Budapest Hotel') and Yvette Nicole Brown ('Percy Jackson'); with voices from Tessa Thompson ('Thor: Ragnarok'), Justin Theroux ('The Girl on the Train'), Sam Elliott ('A Star is Born') and Janelle Monáe ('Hidden Figures'). To remember and be moved.

Plot summary

Lady and the Tramp's cute dogs and likable cast work-well enough, but the live-action update lacks some of the magic that made the original 1955 film such a delight.
