Why watch this film?

Director Aude Léa Rapin chose the "found-footage" style of filming for her first feature film. This was a bold choice, as it was heavily used in the 1980s specifically for horror films. 'The Blair Witch Project' and 'Cloverfield' are examples of this -- productions that look like first-person documentaries, with shaky camera technique or made by the actors themselves. 'Heroes Don't Die' shows that it's not just horror films that work well with this style, as it deals with a story of friendship and very realistic performances. Love, death, and grief are also underlying themes of the narrative and were well placed in the development of the script. Because of this, it is very easy to get involved in the plot.
