Why watch this film?

Claire Niederpruem, a rookie director, seeks to bring her own particular vision to Louisa May Alcott's iconic novel, 'Little Women', bringing the classic story into modern times. It's obvious that Claire knows and understands the book, but it's also refreshing to see her pursue a different approach, straying away from the romance and adventures of the sisters and emphasizing the search for a writer's own voice, largely through her family relationships and the highs and lows of life.
