Why watch this film?

"‘Dog Without Feathers’ is one of the most famous and powerful poems by the Recife-born João Cabral de Melo Neto, also author of ‘Morte e Vida Severina’. It's no wonder that the work was adapted into a historically considered dance show under the coordination of Brazilian dancer and choreographer Deborah Colker. Now, the show takes the audiovisual world with the registration of filmmaker Paulo Severo. Obviously, there is not the same strength of seeing the interpretation of the poem on stage. However, Severo works intelligently so that the viewer, from the sofa of his house, can understand the complexity of joining Melo Neto's poem with Colker's elaborated and praised choreographies. The result is a powerful metalinguistic work that celebrates national art.
